How it started
Design and Build a Bench
I researched all different types of benches before starting to design my own. Ultimately you build a bench in accordance with what you need it for. I wanted a well rounded bench that would be versatile enough for some handwork but also containing my large tools/saws. I wanted to have an integrated vacuum system for the large equipment without having to have hoses above. It has worked really well so far and have slowly been adding to it.
Kid’s toys
My first project was bringing to life a drawing and request my son made of a police car coin bank. From there I bought a book on wood toys to continue down the path with more direction.
Furniture builds
I began my furniture journey by working from a plan for a puzzle table that was on a woodworking site. From there I just designed and built what we needed around the house.
Kitchen and Boards
Every woodworker ends up making cutting boards, either intentionally or with cutoffs. I had some ideas for gifts as well, that could be well used in the kitchen.
Remodels and Misc.
Sometimes it is just easy to build something from scratch for the house, rather than buying factory made. Building custom pieces for events of friends can also not be beat.
Up Next
I have two slabs of 150 year old cypress that I am planning on using to replace my dining room table top. This requires planing it all down and joining the two pieces to fit the current table braces.
